Project description
This project for Core Logic started with the creation of a new website. The precedent version of the Express platform was created with the old PHP technology – which was not in line with the digital market trends at the time. Core Logic chose then to use ReactJS and JAVA technologies, as a path for a modern car rental system and to ensure that the platform is modern, efficient, secure, and with higher scalability. Core Logic started to work with Express on this project in 2017. Back then, ReactJS and TypeScript technologies were only gaining in popularity, but Core Logic knew that this was the direction to take – and indeed, it allowed to reduce the costs of the project, and the time of implementation, and ensured the best user experience possible, which was appreciated by the users of the Express Platform.

Website
The project started with the creation of the website after we received the graphic mock-ups from the external consulting company. After many analyses and consultations, Core Logic proposed a solution that would improve the intuitiveness of the platform, especially on mobile devices. Moreover, the solution facilitated the transfer of data to the website, as well as to the other internal systems. One of the biggest integrations concerned the exchange of data with the ‘Reservation Management System’, which mainly fed the website with data concerning cars and reservations. This integration made by Core Logic allowed us to meet the desired objectives and the platform now presents information clearly and efficiently – so the user can easily book a vehicle, at the desired time and place. The website reconstruction was even honored by the journal Gazeta Finansowa for implementing a modern online car rental system.
CMS
A new and modern CMS was created using Java/React for Express to manage the company’s key processes. Thanks to the new system, Express workers could easily manage their users, reservations, clients, offers, promotions, discounts, payments, and documents.
Email offers
After performing many analyses, it became clear that choosing the perfect rental offer is demanding, but possible! With the help of Core Logic and the Customer Relationship Management system, Express created an e-mail offer-sending system, which lets the company propose custom renting offers to their customers.
Problems
The main problem with the previous Express platform was that it did not meet the company’s business requirements. Basic business operations, like making a reservation, were not intuitive for the user. According to the employees, the visual elements of the website were not in line with modern standards either.
Challenges
The biggest challenge faced by Core Logic was the integration with the Reservation Management System. The API system was quite extensive, and the raw data coming from the RMS system had to go through complicated business operations. Ensuring the efficient and correct use of information, required Core Logic to have a thorough understanding of specialist knowledge. This is also how the improvement of the visual presentation of car information was made possible.Car rental points are forming a huge network of locations, which are properly aggregated and have appropriate dependencies among themselves. The website became responsible for presenting clear and understandable information to users – making the whole reservation process much faster and easier.
